How can you track Codex usage on Windows?

Token totals, cache activity, and plan windows answer different questions. Separate their sources before interpreting today's usage or keeping longer-term history.

Review today's local usage

Install AxiomMeter Personal and activate it in the app. The local usage desk unlocks only after the client verifies and installs the signed license. It reads available local Codex usage records and shows tokens, cache, output, sessions, tools, and models.

Keep tokens separate from plan windows

Token totals describe usage in readable records. Plan windows appear only when the tool exposes readable local state. Window percentages, reset times, and API-equivalent estimates are not official invoices, balances, or payment records.

Enable long-term aggregation only if needed

Personal cloud aggregation is off by default. After explicit consent in Privacy, minimized tool, model, time, and token summaries can sync for long-term trends and exports. Prompts, replies, source code, raw logs, complete paths, and credentials are not uploaded.

Common questions

Can it show Codex usage without readable Codex records?

No. AxiomMeter depends on readable usage records on the device and should not invent usage when those records are unavailable.

Are cost estimates actual charges?

No. Use your provider's official billing and payment records for charges.
